Bill Scholl "The upstairs AC would not stop running in the summer and the living space was HOT. I had 4 other companies come out and diagnose my AC problem, most were in and out within 20 minutes with cursory recommendations. Derrick took the time to examine all aspects of my house and my AC system to include the circuit breakers going to the AC unit. He was also the only technician to measure every room and conduct a load calculation. He was prompt and knowledgeable and provided me with a proposal with several options. He made recommendations based on my budget and the number of years I planned to spend in the house. He discussed options in an ethical manner without trying to up-sell me. It was a relief to have such a thorough evaluation with specific solutions. I scheduled an AC installation with AIM. On the day of the install Derrick, Kevin, and his crew arrived promptly at 8:00am with their panel truck. They placed runners in my home and went right to work. The team worked efficiently and professionally. I could not be happier with the quality installation of my new AC unit. It is rare these days to have a contractor exceed expectations. Will Shoaf "I have nothing but good things to say about AIM (Austin independent Mechanical) A/C and Heating services. When I needed an new A/C unit installed in my home, I originally was going to go with another company. I scheduled an estimate with AIM simply to price check the other bid. However, after Derek's (the owner) walk through where he insisted he manually measure the size of every room, I decided to go with AIM. His diligence (and patience with my questions) highly impressed me. Whereas some companies tell you the unit they want you to get, Derek provided me with 3 different options and thoughtfully explained the pros and cons of each. In addition, he was also able to help me troubleshoot some "hotspots" in my house that weren't getting adequate airflow (he ended up adding a couple registers and some insulation to the attic). In addition, his staff (especially Kevin) were extremely helpful in every step of the process (including help with rebates and tax credits). Kevin King "I installed the Guardian Air in my home so we could try it out and see how well it worked. Also my wife and daughter have some allergy problems. I installed the unit and watched them to see if it made a difference. They no longer have to take allergy medicine when they are home and it has reduced the every day odors in the house such as the “cat box”. My wife was concerned the unit was no longer working because she could no longer smell it in the house, the other day we lost power for about 4 hours so the a/c unit was not moving air through the Guardian Air system. Within about 10 minutes of no power she called and informed me that she could smell a difference in the house, the”cat box” was all the sudden noticeable. It works"!

I used to be a service technician for several years installing A/C and heating equipment, several years ago. I know what it takes to install a system properly to maintain certain comfort conditions in a home. When Derek arrived at my home, I could tell he knew what he was talking about when he determined what size of equipment was needed to maintain the comfort level in my home. It started with him measuring the inside of the house to see how much air-conditioning was needed to keep the house comfortable. We then discussed what I wanted in the way of replacement equipment. He explained what brands the company installed and the amount of rebates I could get back from the government, the state and electric company. Derek then took all the information back to the shop to determine the cost on each system we discussed. I received an email shortly thereafter with all the estimates for each system enabling me to determine which system was right for me. After a determination on the system was made I made a call to set up a time and date for the installation. When the installation crew arrived to install the system, they were very professional in every way. The air flow in each room was taken so it could be compared to the new system after installation. They sealed each vent in the attic to stop any leaking air and added insulation to the attic. The installation crew knew just what they needed to do and was finished in one day. After the unit was up and running the air flow was checked again so each room could be balanced out for proper cooling. Now that the system has been in for almost three months we are very satisfied with the results. Each room stays the same temperature all the time with no hot or cold spots. We have lived in the house for four years and this is the first time that we have felt that the air-conditioning system is doing the right job. I highly recommend A.I.M.
